About Mandy Landwehr
Painting Vibrant Stories and Passing Down Timeless Family Love
The Heart Behind Wee University Books
Mandy Landwehr is a picture book author, artist, mother of five, and grandmother. She founded Wee University Books as a tribute to her late mother, Pamela McKenzie, a dedicated teacher who ran Wee University Preschool in Eveleth, Minnesota. Pamela read Mandy her very first book, taught her how to paint, and instilled a deep love for storytelling that now spans three generations.
The Creative Style
Mandy combines bold, colorful paintings with gentle, rhythmic text. Inspired by nature, trees, ferns, flowers, and wildlife, her artwork lights up the page while her simple rhymes make it easy for young children to memorize lines and read them back with pride.
